Due to unfortunate circumstances, it happens to all chefs that the dish does not end up being delicious. There are simple tips on how to correct cooking mistakes.
The pasta is overcooked — place the overcooked pasta under a stream of cold water for a few minutes to stop the cooking process and the pasta will harden. Then heat it with tomato sauce (the acid from the sauce will solidify the pasta).
The noodles are sticky — dry and cool the noodles. Return the noodles to the pan. Add at least one tablespoon of olive oil. Stir well over low heat.
The soup (stew) is too salty – add a little raw pasta or one peeled potato. The starch from these foods will absorb excess salt. After 15 to 20 minutes of cooking, remove the pasta or potatoes from the soup.
The fish is too dry — spread it with a mixture of butter and lemon. Sprinkle with chopped marjoram or other herbs. The sauce will add moisture while the spices will add flavor.
The vegetables are overcooked – cool them quickly in cold water. Then heat the vegetables briefly and sprinkle with lemon, lime or orange before serving.
The fruit is too ripe — when the fruit is gooey you can’t even use it for a fruit salad. Use it to prepare various fruit drinks (cocktails, sorbets, smoothies) or for ice cream.
The bread is burnt – remove the burnt portion. Grease with olive oil. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and serve as a cake.
