Tonic plants increase physical and mental endurance, activate the central nervous system, strengthen the body’s ability to resist changing living and working conditions. They stimulate the immune system, improve people’s mood and help avoid viral infections.
Medicinal plants that have a stimulating effect are divided into 3 groups.
Group 1-bean coffee and tea leaves.
Group 2-stimulants for the reproductive system and libido. The most well-known stimulants are selenium, celery root and bergenia.
Group 3 – the most popular group of plants that have adaptogenic effect, immunomodulatory effect and stimulating effect. These are Ginseng, Echinacea, Rhodiola, Rudbeckia, Eleutherococcus, Schisandra.
It is recommended to plant some efficient and not too demanding plants in the garden or in pots on the balconies, which serve to help strengthen the immunity and prepare tonic tinctures at home.
Echinacea for immunity in the form of a tonic tea – a spoonful of echinacea plant and flowers, a spoonful of rhadiola and a spoonful of lemon balm pour into a thermos bottle with 200 ml of boiling water. Let stand 30 minutes. Strain. Take 50 ml 4-5 times daily before meals. Therapy lasts 10 days. After a break of 5 days, you can repeat the therapy.
Platycodon (lat. Platycodon grandiflorus) – a perennial plant with cup-shaped leaves. In China and Korea, it is used in the diet as part of vitamin salads. They contain saponins, inulin, vitamins and minerals. The root of this plant improves blood flow to the upper respiratory tract, throat and pharynx. This root increases the oxygen saturation of the blood, improves the exchange of gases in the body and activates the function of the lungs. Chop 6 grams of root into a powder. Add a tablespoon of oregano and pour 250 ml of boiling water into a thermos bottle. Let stand 2 hours. Strain. Drink 50 ml several times a day. Therapy lasts 10 days.
Inula or Oman is a popular immunomodulator. This flower has the power of 9 medicinal herbs. It strengthens the metabolism, fights depression, strengthens muscle tone and eliminates fatigue. Pour 5 tablespoons of finely chopped herbs in a dark bowl with 40% alcohol solution. Leave for 2 weeks in a dark place. Shake daily. Take one tablespoon before dinner. Therapy lasts 14 days.
