10th edition of Contemporary Talents

Who may enter
This competition is open to major visual artists, of all nationalities, at the mid-point of their career. 

• Proof of a professional artistic activity and/or being a graduate of an art school.
• Have a solid artistic background: work recently exhibited in institutions, galleries, festivals, etc. or have participated in an artistic residency.

The François Schneider Foundation invites artists from around the world to participate in the Contemporary Talents competition on the theme of Water.

 Artists are invited to submit their offerings on the water theme, realistic or utopian, figurative or abstract, whilst offering a singular and sensitive viewpoint on this theme.

Each year, over 1,000 artists from around a hundred different countries submit applications. After around thirty finalists have been selected by five Expert Committees, the International Grand Jury, chaired by Jean-Noël Jeanneney, choses a maximum of four prize-winners. ”

The competition is open to artists presenting a work in the following fields: painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, photography, video or any other form of plastic and visual arts.

For installations and sculptures, artists may present either an existing work or a project. For other disciplines, only an existing work may be presented.

Participation in the competition can only be done electronically after registration on the website of the François Schneider Foundation.

Entry fees
The competition is free to enter.

The jury will choose the 4 “Contemporary Talents” prize-winners whose works will be acquired by the Foundation. Each prize-winner receives 15,000 € for the acquisition of their work.
