10 tips on how to become a top master in the kitchen (Part One)

  1. The oil spray makes it easier to add a small amount of flavor to the salad you are preparing. The salad dressing shaker makes it easy to prepare a low-fat and unsalted salad dressing that you can later keep in the fridge and use as needed.
  2. Select the appropriate pan. The pan is one of the most important tools in the kitchen. It should be of excellent quality so that the food does not stick to the bottom of the pan during frying. Choose a heavier pan that has a transparent and quality lid. When preparing food, use wooden or plastic kitchen utensils so as not to damage the cooking utensils. One of the best options on the market right now is a ceramic pan. It conducts heat very well. Cooking will be facilitated because the food does not stick in the ceramic pan.
  3. You can use measuring cups, a kitchen digital scale or special portion measuring spoons to measure portions. The general rule is that one serving (moussaka, risotto, pasta, and similar dishes) for one adult should be the size of one cup. For stew or soup, one serving is one and a half cups (tea cup). Half a cup is a measure for fruit side dishes or whole grain side dishes. The portion of cooked meat is 85 grams per person. When you become a professional in this business, however, you occasionally rely on digital scales and other kitchen portion (food) meters to test your abilities.
  4. For a good start to the day, a great choice is a morning omelet. Enrich the omelet with a portion of antioxidants. Instead of full-fat cheese and ham, add a few pieces of ripe tomato to the omelette.
  5. All meat lovers love burgers, meat rolls or meatballs. Occasionally replace half of the meat for these dishes with chopped mushrooms. The result will be great. The dish will retain its taste with few calories. Namely, mushrooms have 6 times less energy value than meat.
  6. Instead of salty and high-calorie toppings for grilled chicken, make a topping of chopped roasted peppers, extra virgin olive oil, black wine vinegar and garlic.
  7. Make chocolate biscuit cakes by using boiled and crushed beets as the main ingredient. Thanks to this sweet vegetable, you will reduce fat. The cake will be soft and juicy.
  8. Replace the cup of oil or butter in the recipe with a cup of vegetable puree.
  9. Use fake paste. Use zucchini instead of flour spaghetti. Squeeze thin and long strips which you then place in a bowl of water. Cook for 2-3 minutes on low heat.
  10. Make homemade bolognese sauce from pieces of lean beef, tomato juice, garlic and onion. You can use this sauce as a topping for any dish.
