10 tips for buying suitable footwear

  1. The best time to buy shoes and other footwear is in the afternoon when your feet are tired or swollen (from walking or standing for several hours). Then you will be sure that the shoes you buy will remain comfortable all the time of use. The morning hours are not good for buying shoes because the feet are rested so we can wear tighter and tighter shoes. That is why it is best to buy shoes in the afternoon, when your feet are tired, even a little swollen.
  2. Shoe size is equally important. Try a larger size than you normally use because that way you will better decide which number suits you. The size is well chosen, if your feet “sit” straight in your shoes and “do not dance”. The width and length of the shoes are equally important. Shoes are chosen correctly when you have a little “free space” between the toe and the front of the shoe.
  3. Women like heeled shoes although many women avoid high heels because they cannot walk / stand in them for long. The correct heel on a shoe is the one that is in a straight line under the heel bone.
  4. Always be careful when wearing shoes for the first time. Pre-tread the shoes by walking at home or wearing them on short distances (to get the foot used and the shoes to fit your foot). If your shoes itch every time you put them on and you don’t have the opportunity to change them, put a piece of cotton wool soaked in milk in your shoes. Wear it for such a short time until you step on your shoes enough to be comfortable the first time you wear them.
  5. Summer footwear (sandals and slippers-sandals or slippers) should be comfortable all day and night. They should be made of higher quality materials (leather or eco-leather) so that you can wear them for several seasons (years).
  6. Focus on models that are ideal for those days when you are on the move all day, and in the evening you will find an event where you want to look good. Such a simple and glamorous model are sandals with a low block heel with a strap around the ankle adorned with a clasp decorated with a pearl bead.
  1. If sandals or slippers with a heel a few centimetres high do not suit you, opt for a similar model of so-called “basic” sandals in a flat version. This type of sandal will fit with all combinations. More striking models are with leather laces that will best fit skirts above the knee. Modern or retro models go great with high-waisted dresses or jeans.
  2. Statistics say that 40% of the earnings of most fashion companies are the sale of shoes. It is always difficult to decide on one model among the various collections of world fashion brands that have different and equally desirable footwear model options. Footwear designers therefore never give strict instructions for buying and choosing footwear. It offers everything from models sprinkled with sequins, patent leather shoes, socks, ankle boots, sports and elegant sneakers or moccasins with low or high heels. Footwear designers say that classic models of footwear in black and brown shades are typical for autumn and winter. For spring and summer, white, bright red, gentle pastel shades of footwear are suitable. Over time, the boundary between footwear used in daytime and evening occasions has disappeared.
  3. Edited is the world’s leading fashion business analytics company that collaborates with fashion companies (Desigual, net-a-porter, Tommy Hilfiger and others). Each year, Edited provides data and estimates on footwear sales and compares them with previous years. Their data say that sales of footwear with a heel up to 5 cm increased in relation to the sale of footwear with a heel of 10 centimetres, which is declining. http://www.desigual.com http://www.net-a-porter.com usa.tommy.com
  4. Women generally choose comfortable footwear that can be a bit feminine. Although there are shoes with low, medium, semi-high and high heels, the most sought-after models are shoes with heels up to 5 centimetres (so-called grandmother’s heels). You can spend the whole day in these shoes. These shoes don’t have to be “boring” because the designers make models that look like a glittering piece of jewelry with gold and silver glitter leather, with metal buckles, fringes and rivets or with pearls.
