The 2021 is The Year of The Ox

The White Metal Ox starts on the 12th of February 2021.

According to the Chinese tradition and the Chinese horoscope, 2020 is the year of the Rats, and it started on January 25, 2020 and ends on February 11, 2021.

New Year’s Eve in the Chinese tradition lasts as long as 15 days, and begins with the spring festival, one of the happiest holidays in China. Apart from China, the lunar New Year is also celebrated in some other countries of the Far East, such as Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam.

The Chinese calendar is divided into 12 months of 29 or 30 days a month, and the years are arranged in a cycle of 60 years. Each year it is named after one of the twelve animals. And this twelve-year cycle repeats itself regularly.

The last day of the celebration of the New Year in China is marked by millions of red lanterns flying into the sky, carrying positive thoughts and wishes of the Chinese people. This holiday is otherwise known as the Shanghai Festival or the Lantern Festival, and in Japan it is celebrated as the Little New Year.
