6 natural ways to care for dry and dehydrated skin

  1. After washing / bathing, apply a moisturizer to close the gaps between the skin cells and stop the existing moisture.
  2. Use minimal soaps and other cleaning products that contain alcohol, sulfates, artificial perfumes, retinol, and alpha-hydroxy acid.
  3. Take one shower a day or a bath with warm water (hot water washes out natural oils) for 5-10 minutes. More frequent and longer bathing / showering removes most of the greasy layer. Causes moisture loss.
  4. Using a humidifier gives efficiency. Let the device reach about 60% humidity. This is enough to replenish the lost moisture in the upper layer of the skin.
  5. Foods rich in water also help because you get 20-25% of your daily water needs — research shows. Moisturizing foods are soups, soups, fruits and vegetables.
  6. Clean and plain water is great for hydration. At least about 2 liters of water a day.
