Gladiolus, lilies, Mirabilis Jalapa and begonias are great flowers for planting in March and novice gardeners.
Now is a good time to plant flowers that will decorate balconies and gardens all summer long.
Gladiolus, lilies and begonias are quite easy to plant. So it would be ideal to plant these flowers soon. The danger of frost needs to pass for the planted flowers to thrive and bloom. The bulbs should be placed in a place where they get a lot of sunlight. It is important to make a sufficient distance between the seedlings.
Gladiolus should have a distance of 12 to 15 cm.
Begonias should have a distance of at least 25
Lilies should have a distance of 30 cm in length.
The seeds of the plant “night lady” (Mirabilis jalapa) or “miracle of Peru” or “flower in four hours” are also ideal for sowing during March. This plant blooms from the beginning of spring, then throughout the summer. People love this plant because of its beautiful scent. Mirabilis in Latin means wonderful, and Jalapa is the capital of the state of Veracruz in Mexico. Mirabilis Jalapa was cultivated by the Aztecs for medicinal and ornamental purposes.
The “Night Lady” plant also likes bright places and soil rich in humus. It is an excellent choice for beginners in gardening because it is very resistant to frost and does not require special care.
I love(d) Mirabilis, the “wonder of Peru”. It is a delight for the eyes, and its scent is pure magic. Is there anything more poetic than flowers that release their fragrance at night?
I bought it for my mother’s balcony, and I still remember that wondrous, unforgettable fragrance that wafted into the living room in warm summer nights – now, the scent of happiness past.
