Flavor therapy and favorite flavors give health indications
Each person has a favorite food. Giving preference to some type of food is not a whim but a significant signal of the human body about the state of the organism and possible disease. Preferring certain tastes means it has a physiological basis. The body prefers a certain taste or signals with a change in taste if the body is missing something. This process also regulates mood and even health if a person listens to the body and correctly interprets the received signals. People can distinguish sweet taste from bitter taste or sour taste from salty taste due to taste receptors on the tongue. Medical therapy for the treatment of flavors was set up in ancient India on this basis. The essence is that there are many reflex zones on the tongue connected with all organs in the body and not only with the digestive tract. Therefore, other organs can be affected through the tongue. In case of health problems, this medical method from ancient India advises people to use more products with flavors that suit the disease / health problems.
Resistant and sour taste – stops diarrhea and contributes to wound healing. It improves blood coagulation and is induced due to bleeding.
Salty taste – stimulates digestion, stimulates thirst and appetite, retains water in the body and has a laxative effect due to constipation.
Sweet taste – contributes to the expansion of blood vessels. It is useful in the case of cardiovascular disease, especially ischemic heart disease.
Bitter taste – has anti-inflammatory effect, normalizes kidney function, cleanses the body of salt and slag, contributes to weight loss and improves complexion.
Spicy taste – stimulates digestion, cleanses the blood and stimulates antimicrobial activity.

  1. Fermented or dairy products – if the body is looking for this type of food every day, then it means that a person needs rest and relaxation. In these products, the essential amino acid is tryptophan, from which serotonin is produced. Tryptophan suppresses anxiety, improves mood and gives good sleep. It is also possible that the body lacks calcium, which can worsen bones, heart function, nervous system and the musculoskeletal system in general. The preference for fermented dairy products may mean that there is a risk of dysbacteriosis, which means that beneficial intestinal bacteria need help.
  2. Sausages and hams – a tendency to these products means that the body lacks cholesterol and fatty acids for active brain work and maintaining normal hormone levels. The need for smoked products means that the amount of fat in the diet should be increased, at least in the form of consumption of walnuts, avocados and vegetable fats.
  3. Seafood-craving for these products means that the body lacks iodine.
  4. Cheese-propensity to cheese means that a person needs to fix the hormonal basis. In women, this deficiency is expressed with severe pre-menstrual syndrome, swelling, muscle cramps and bad mood.
  5. Bitter taste – tendency to bitter products, garlic, onion, mustard, hot peppers and similar foods should strengthen immunity with natural disinfectants and more complex methods.
  6. Sour taste – tendency to sour tastes such as lemon, cranberry, sauerkraut and the like means that the person is depressed and tired and needs extra energy. Reduced acidity of gastric juice may also be presumed. Vitamin C can provide energy, good mood and improve digestion.
  7. Salty foods – people who like to eat salty foods constantly and every day are due to increased activity of the thyroid gland, which speeds up metabolism, and due to pregnancy or intense physical work when the body loses a lot of salt through sweat. Ayurvedic medicine says that this process helps the body maintain strength and at the same time accumulate more energy.
