Pets can be helped with teas and herbal liquids
Pets (such as dogs and cats) can be given valuable first aid by people at home (before visiting a veterinarian) in awkward situations and health problems. Healers have long noticed that some animals heal themselves by using / eating herbs and plants from nature. Today, medicine and veterinary medicine are modern and have new inventions and advances every day. Therefore, the use of plants is quite justified. However, it is always advisable to seek a consultation with a veterinarian because first aid at a precious moment does not mean cure.
Today, ready-made herbal preparations for internal and external use can be bought in veterinary pharmacies. These preparations are characterized by a balanced composition adapted to the metabolism of the dog or cat or bird. Some medicinal plants cannot be used to make ready-made preparations, so the owner should make his own teas (and medicinal herbal liquids).

For non-toxic plants, one to two teaspoons of dried herbs per glass of water are usually used. Pour over boiling water and leave for half an hour (for herbal liquid). Or cook for 5 to 7 minutes on steam (tea). Cool and strain. Give the drink to your pet in the following amount according to weight:
-up to 9 kg -15 ml of tea or herbal liquid (three tablespoons)
-from 9 to 23 kg -20 ml (four spoons)
-from 23 to 26 kg -25 ml (five tablespoons)
-36 and more kg -30 ml of tea or herbal liquid (6 tablespoons).

Use a medical syringe for dosing. Keep brewed teas and herbal liquids in the refrigerator for a maximum of 2 days. Heat these liquids before use. Treatment of chronic diseases lasts from 3 to 6 weeks with a break of seven to ten days.

  1. Dogs suffer mostly from the same diseases as humans, so the same herbs and plants can be used. Chamomile is a universal plant for inflammatory conditions, diseases of the digestive tract, liver and kidneys. Chamomile herbal liquid (one tablespoon per 250 ml of boiling water) is given to dogs three times a day before meals, depending on the weight of the animal. A strong herbal liquid (two tablespoons of raw material for 250 ml of boiling water) is used for rinsing the eyes in case of inflammatory conditions, ulcers, wounds and burns. Of course you have to wait for the liquid to cool.
  2. An indispensable medicinal plant for dogs is the female buckthorn. This plant contains vitamins C, K, beta carotene, flavonoids, organic acids and trace elements. It effectively normalizes gastric secretion and is great for expectoration. Buckthorn leaves reduce inflammation and pain. They are good for faster healing of wounds and ulcers on the skin. It can be used for inflammatory conditions of the digestive organs and respiratory organs of dogs. Pour 250 ml of boiling water over one tablespoon of dried buckthorn leaves. Leave for half an hour. Strain. Give the dog 3-4 times a day from 1 to 4 teaspoons, depending on the weight of the dog.
  3. Dogs that have undergone chemotherapy due to piroplasmosis need to be strengthened with vitamins and herbs. Individual plants or herbal mixtures are used for this purpose. Red clover, rose hips, willow flowers (Latin Epilobium), St. John’s wort flowers (Latin Galium verum), St. John’s wort, echinacea, honeysuckle (Latin Filipendula), licorice root and the like are used.
  4. Oncological diseases are possible in older dogs. For prevention and treatment, herbalists use flowers and leaves of cypress – five parts, St. John’s wort flowers – four parts, petroleum (Latin Agrimonia eupatoria), birch leaf, red clover flowers, licorice root, marigold flowers – three parts, mint leaves – two parts. Pour one tablespoon of the mixture with 300 ml of boiling water. Leave for about 2 hours, then strain. Give the dog 2 to 5 small spoons 3-4 times daily before meals.
