
Spanish-American chef José Andrés chef is currently cooking meals for the needy with the non-profit Word Central Kitchen on the Ukrainian-Russian border. Chef Andres is known for his active humanitarian work. He installed mobile kitchens and food needs faced with the catastrophic Russian invasion of Ukraine. He posted on his Twitter profile:
“People of the world … I am as mad as you are to see Ukraine attacked. We must join forces for good! @WCKitchen is on the border with Poland and delivering meals tonight — Romania soon. In addition to your donations … I will use support from Bezos awards in Ukraine. “
Chef Andrés received the Jeff Bezos Award for Courage of $ 100 million.
Jose Andresa and World Central Kitchen with Ukrainian chefs are already cooking hot meals for the needs of Odessa. This humanitarian action will soon be extended to Kharkiv and Kyiv although the situation is extremely difficult for the organization of the kitchen, staff, food supply and financing.
