
The most famous Ukrainian cartoonist Vladimir Kazanevsky

Vladimir Kazanevsky is the most famous cartoonist from Ukraine and one of the most famous European cartoonists. , Kazanevsky has collaborated with French Le Monde, among others. He recently did a caricature for the French daily newspaper on the subject of press freedom on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day. The caricature shows a small journalist in front of a huge gun pointed in front of the journalist at the place where the interlocutor’s face should be found.
Vladimir Kazanevsky lives and works in Kiev where he is today. Recent cartoons show the Russian president.

Vladimir Kazanevsky was born in 1950 in Lebedin (Ukraine). He graduated from Kharkov State University majoring “Cosmic radiophysics” in 1973 and Kiev Institute of Journalism Skill in 1984. His cartoons have been published in many newspapers and magazines in the world. He won more than 500 prizes in 53 countries trough international cartoon contests.

Kazanevsky is also the author of many books such as Heads, Revelation of Elderly Cupid or Art of Modern Cartoon for instance. The most recent one is Soft Knees (2018).
His cartoons have published in many newspapers and magazines in the world (for instance, “Yomiuri Shimbun” (Japan), “Nebelspalter” (Swiss), “Eulenspiegel” (Germany), “Courrier international”, Le Monde (France) and many others.
