10 types of fruits and vegetables that contain the least pesticides
Growers spray fruits and vegetables out of necessity (to protect against insects and fungi) although this has long-term consequences for human health. There are some foods that contain the least pesticides, says the American Environmental Association (EWG).
- Fungi grow from the soil and do not contain harmful substances. Mushrooms should be washed well before use to clean dust and excess soil.
- Cauliflower is an extremely pure food. Cauliflower is an excellent source of fiber that solves obesity.
- Kiwi is a fruit that contains very few pesticides. Kiwi peel is full of fiber. Wash the kiwi well if you eat this fruit with the peel.
- Cabbage is an interesting vegetable because cabbage produces components that repel insects. Growers should not use pesticides to protect cabbage from insects and pests.
- Broccoli is a vegetable that repels insects on its own. Broccoli is a good snack and the main ingredient of soup.
- Asparagus – contains enzymes that break down pesticides (which serve to defend against insects). Asparagus therefore contains very little pesticide.
- Peas-is a pure food because the outer membrane is cleaned.
- Eggplant is also a healthy food with very few pesticides.
- Onion-grows in soil so it contains little pesticides.
- Avocado has a protective layer that prevents the penetration of pesticides into the interior.
