Chili pepper against adipose tissue cells-capsacaine is a substance that gives these small peppers a spicy taste. Capsacain is a substance that can stop the growth of fat cells – the results of laboratory research reveal. The researchers exposed mouse fat cells to doses of 0 to 250 micromoles of capsaicin solution and incubated the cells for 24, 48 and 72 hours. Then they noticed that capsaicin stopped the growth of fat cells (depending on the dose and time of cell exposure). The researchers believe that capsaicin inhibited the expression of the PPARγ protein (which has been found to regulate the function of several genes involved in fat cell production and adipose tissue formation). Their results show that capsaicin successfully prevents the formation of adipose tissue.
