On July 9, the Movement of Mothers of Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves, the Post-Conflict Research Center, and Srebrenica Memorial Center will open the “Scarves of Remembrance” photography exhibition at the Srebrenica Memorial Center.

This exhibition follows the creation and development of the “Mother’s Scarf” art installation and discusses the ongoing challenges Mothers of Srebrenica face in their fight for remembrance and justice. Features photography works by Bosnian photographer Denis Ruvić.

“If the scarves of Srebrenica mothers could talk, each would tell a unique story of unconditional love, unspeakable tragedy, and life-long dedication to finding the truth to provide their loved ones with lasting peace.” – An important message from Dr. Ria Schmidt, wife of Mr. Christian Schmidt, High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina in support of #SrebrenicaHeroines.

Srebrenica Heroines is multimedia, educational and artistic initiative aimed at documenting and highlighting the stories of women survivors of the Srebrenica genocide, their heroic fight against the impunity of perpetrators, and efforts to preserve the truth about genocide and is part of #OnaSrebrenica – official marking of the 27th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide. https://p-crc.org/…/art-activism/srebrenica-heroines/.
