
Homemade Vitamin C in home preparation
Wash the peel of 5 to 7 different lemons and oranges. Slice thinly. Place on baking paper. Dry in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes at a temperature of 120°C. Turn the crust occasionally and check for dryness. The crust is ready if it is completely dry. Grind the cooled peel in a blender. Pour into an airtight container. Keep in the fridge. Add the mixture to juices, salads, porridges, teas, etc. every day.
Advice and recommendations of herbalists and pharmacists: This natural ascorbic acid is an excellent prevention against colds during cold days. The recipe is good and useful. But it can be better. Namely, vitamin C and essential oil (from the bark) decreases after heat treatment. That’s why you dry the peel at a much lower temperature or in the air. Chop just before use. You can also store the dried peel at room temperature.
