Hibiscus, linseed and valerian lower blood pressure
Statistics say that about one billion people on the planet have high blood pressure. Hypertension is a major risk factor for death worldwide. This disease kills 9 million people every year in the world. This disease causes stroke, heart attack, kidney failure (kidney failure) and more. The main causes of the disease are lifestyle and diet.
Vegetarians are the only group of people in the Western world capable of achieving ideal blood pressure – writes American physician doctor Michael Greger in the book “Don’t overdo it! Food in the fight for life”. In 2014, the results of a meta-analysis (compilation of many similar studies) were published. A vegetarian diet effectively lowers arterial pressure – according to the results of a meta-analysis. However, the good news is that people who are far from vegetarian can use some magical products to lower blood pressure.

- Karkade drink made from hibiscus flowers (rose of Sudan) – with regular use, it strengthens and contributes to the expansion of blood vessels, improving blood flow, has a diuretic effect, which lowers arterial pressure. Scientific research has established that 2 cups of this drink every morning (5 tea bags) effectively lowers blood pressure as well as the initial dose of the drug “captopril” (a leading drug against high blood pressure, which is taken twice a day). Sudanese rose tea should be drunk daily for 6 weeks to show the effect of lowering blood pressure. This potion has no side effects even if it is slow acting. This tea has the 1st place compared to other 280 drinks. Boil the hibiscus for another 20 minutes after the initial boil. It is better to use whole dried flowers than powder. Add honey because hibiscus is very acidic. Never add honey to hot tea. Honey contains acetylcholine, which has the ability to lower blood pressure. Use dry stevia leaves as a sweetener (stevia strengthens blood vessels and can be used in the complex treatment of hypertension). Never add sugar because sugar increases blood pressure. Sugar increases the production of adrenaline, which causes blood vessels to constrict. Drink Karkade tea using a straw. Then rinse your mouth with water. People prone to blood pressure fluctuations should drink this tea cautiously in small quantities. People with stomach ulcers, kidney stones and sand should avoid hibiscus tea.
- Flaxseed – modern scientific research concludes that flaxseed has shown one of the strongest effects in lowering blood pressure (ever achieved by a food product). Flaxseed works twice as fast as antihypertensive drugs. Flax has good side effects. Flax shows anticancer properties in clinical research. Flax is able to lower the level of cholesterol, triglycerides and sugar in the blood, reduce inflammation and successfully treat constipation. Add a spoonful of flax seeds to your food – doctors advise.
- Valerian – take 4 to 5 tablets of valerian at once. The pressure can be reduced within half an hour. Hypertension often occurs as a result of long and strong excitement and tension of the nervous system (stress, problems at work, etc.). In the beginning, there is a temporary and then a permanent spasm of blood vessels and increased pressure. That is why it is important for a person to learn to deal with stressful situations. Some plants can be an additional therapy because they have a beneficial effect on the nervous system and regulate the activity of the heart. Valerian has been a prized plant among such plants since ancient times. Valerian is a medicine that brings kindness and calmness. Valerian is called a plant for the soul. The root is applied in the form of herbal liquid or powder in the case of high pressure treatment. The root is ground in a blender or coffee grinder. Take 2 grams with water 3 to 4 times a day.
- Water and salt have a healing effect – unsalted food and diuretics are usually prescribed for people with hypertension. But, doctor F. Batmanghelidj (author of the revolutionary book “Your body is looking for water”) believes that it is dehydration that causes hypertnesia. He believes that the modern way of fighting hypertension is incorrect. Primary arterial hypertension should be treated with water, the doctor believes, that is, by consuming water, because water is an excellent diuretic. A person who increases his daily intake of water and creates a sufficient amount of urine – then that person will not need a diuretic. A person needs 30 ml of water per 1 kg of body weight. One glass of water is taken half an hour before a meal and two hours after a meal (the remaining amount is evenly distributed throughout the day). Drinks containing caffeine and alcohol, which dehydrate the body, should be avoided. The norm of water should be gradually increased if long-term dehydration has caused heart failure, explains the doctor. Doctor Batmanghelidj believes that a person should take half a teaspoon of salt a day (although the use of salt is a traditional contraindication for people with with high pressure) – salt helps water to be absorbed. This author’s book “Water heals, drugs kill” contains letters of thanks from people suffering from hypertension and other diseases. They were not helped by other drugs than relied on the healing effect of salt and water. They state that after 8 glasses of water and one small spoonful of salt per day, their blood pressure returned to normal (a period of several months may be required). Bath for rapid normalization of blood pressure: fill the bathtub with water at a temperature of 37-38 degrees C. Add 5 to 10 spoons of salt. Lie in the bath for up to 15 minutes and then go to bed. The result is that most people’s blood pressure normalizes quickly. It is not possible to explain all nuances in a short article. But do not increase the amount of water and salt without using the tips and instructions according to Dr. Batmanghelidj’s books. The recommendations in the text can be a supplement to the treatment prescribed by the doctor, but they cannot replace medical therapy.
