10 types of teas for cold days (also suitable for diabetics)
Nature contains a cure for all diseases – say phytotherapists. Herbal preparations and herbal drinks (which can lower blood sugar and improve insulin sensitivity) are helpful for people with diabetes. However, these types of teas cannot ignore traditional treatment. They are used exclusively as a supplement to classical medical therapy.
Fig leaves have long been known for their healing properties. It is extremely good for diabetes. Fig leaf juice is usually used. The juice is drunk during breakfast immediately after waking up.
Blueberry – common blueberry is one of the best medicines against diabetes. The leaves of this plant lower the blood sugar level. The leaves are boiled for half an hour in 3 to 4 cups of water. Several cups of tea are drunk daily.

Cinnamon – Cinnamon has been found to increase insulin activity. One spoonful of cinnamon a day can lower blood sugar levels. This plant also lowers the level of triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood.
Parsley – has been used since ancient times for the treatment and relief of diabetes. Chop fresh parsley leaves. Grate the root. Mix the ingredients with a cup of yogurt or sour milk. It is drunk every night before going to bed.
Teas for diabetes have no side effects if they are drunk properly
The recommended daily dose of tea should be respected, because exceeding the dose can cause diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. Seek the advice of doctors, phytotherapists and experts in medicinal plants if you have any doubts related to the preparation and consumption of tea. Do not take the teas on their own in case of pregnancy, breastfeeding, if you use blood thinners or are preparing for surgery.

Some of the most effective teas for diabetes are:
- Green tea (contains all nutrients necessary for the body and helps treat many diseases). The recommendation for women and girls is not to take this tea during the monthly cycle.
- White tea has almost the same effect as green tea, but fewer contraindications. Do not overdo the intake of white tea during the day, as digestive problems may occur.
- Wild cherry peel tea – has a pleasant taste. It is rich in nutrients and vitamins (vitamin C, vitamin B and vitamin D complex).
- Silver silk – contains gymnenic acid (which prevents a sudden spike in blood sugar). Although more research is needed to determine the effect of silver silk (Gymnema sylvestre), Ayurvedic doctors use it in the treatment of diabetes. Studies show that people who have included the plant in their menu control the disease more easily. It is considered to have the ability to regenerate pancreatic cells. Research says that 400 mg of silver silk per day helps regulate blood sugar.
- Dogwood tea – the main advantage of dogwood tea is its effect on the body to increase its own insulin production (in case of diabetes).
- You can also use yarrow tea, nettle, celery or marshmallow drink.
