7 ways to more easily overcome obstacles due to illness, diagnosis and life trials
Obstacles are an integral part of human life. It is sometimes difficult for every person to maintain a good general state of the organism (due to their own illness, illness or death of loved ones, medical diagnosis and other small and large obstacles in life).
The biggest challenges are dietary restrictions (due to drug therapy), workplace and unwanted dismissals (which is a frequent source of stress and fatigue), long sick leave, forced and conscious change of environment and place of residence, war events, migrations, natural disasters, lack of motivation for physical and any other activity (depression and anxiety due to life circumstances). All this makes it difficult for any person in control of life (which requires absolute vigilance and dedication) to prevent other unwanted consequences. It is therefore important to periodically analyze and independently re-examine the treatment methods (for patients) and the attitude towards the disease and methods (in which the disease is placed in sufficiently stable frameworks) to ensure a satisfactory quality of life and to recognize mistakes and negative feelings that disrupt health care.
The goal is to make changes in a timely manner without disturbing or burdening the daily routine
1- Attitudinal change – a person’s attitude towards disease and obstacles in life is an important part of the complex process of treatment and diagnostics – in which a positive attitude plays a key role. An optimistic approach will make it easier to take the necessary measures even when life is moving in an undesirable direction. Patients are sometimes tormented by a sense of guilt due to the failure to regulate the basic parameters of the disease (an obstacle in life). The outcome is sometimes not equal or commensurate with the effort invested. That is why negative emotions develop, dominated by anger, disappointment, destructive thoughts, withdrawal into one’s own shell and a sense of defeat. The feeling of helplessness and the conviction that you are destined for severe complications often occur. Always know that every person’s whole life is a struggle (but just about every person in the world) with illness or life’s misfortunes. And another “front” will help you discover the hidden reserves of will and strength that have always existed in you.
2- Recognizing one’s own feelings– The psyche is a miracle. The psyche of a person can raise it to unimagined heights, but it can also be blocked by mechanisms deeply rooted and hidden in the human subconscious. Thus, your psyche can damage every segment of your life. It is important to understand your own essence and learn to recognize your own feelings. This process does not last for several days. This process lasts a lifetime, but it is very important to start this process – already tomorrow. It is very helpful to write down your own thoughts and feelings. It is useful to talk with a person who appreciates, respects and loves you or with a person with whom you are “on the same wavelength”. You will soon be able to process your own feelings, the situation will be clearer and it will be much easier for you to find a favorable solution to your problem/disease/diagnosis/life obstacle.
3- Change habits and behavior gradually – this is important if a person is suddenly faced with a diagnosis. You make small changes in your life every day. Positive results will not be absent. Changing behavior and adopting new habits is not an easy task. However, if a person has the right information and knowledge or advice with an appropriate level of awareness, good will and properly set goals – then everything is feasible. Every day and any action will give positive results in the long run. Take small and defined steps. A person accepts and adopts changes more easily if he imagines that he is overcoming small obstacles, not huge barriers. Feelings of guilt, shame and disappointment are not good allies in the process of searching for solutions to problems and adopting new ones. Think like a healthy person who wants to make life better.
4- Disentangle the tangle of emotions – a person spontaneously moves to another level after some time – separation of emotions from the gloomy everyday life faced with an illness or an obstacle. This will help a person when he feels despair due to the lack of quick and noticeable results (which show that things are moving in the right direction). Look at life rationally – what does a person gain or lose by including negative emotions in the process of maintaining health. He or she only gets new destructive feelings that further undermine his already weakened faith in the improvement of life (health and the like). and life’s obstacles and illness, for example, will not wait for a person’s positive attitude and optimism – they do their work supported by your dark thoughts and surrender. In the end, life will go on and the problem will be solved in accordance with the person’s decision, although it is not easy to reach this point (let’s not be fooled). Facing one’s own emotions is painful and requires one’s own effort, ups and downs, but it is undoubtedly the only way to remove all barriers and reach the goal. Thus, you get the opportunity to look at life from a different angle, which helps to more easily remove and notice unconscious mistakes in life.
5- The essence is looking at one’s own actions from the necessary distance and rationally accepting (understanding) one’s own mistakes and finding them acts to remove and correct errors.
6- With these small changes in looking at life from other angles and understanding that every person makes mistakes – but many mistakes can be avoided and removed from life – life will be much more beautiful, healthier and fun. Also, many adversities that seemed terrible and unbearable – they will be solvable and become a part of life (like laughter, beautiful life events, good health and happiness).
7- Happiness and success in life is not a permanent state of life, but sadness and problems are also not a permanent state of life – everything is a part of human life that every person should accept.
