Healthy substitutes for meat, eggs and milk
Today, there are numerous foods on the market that can be added to the daily menu (and many of which can be an ideal substitute for meat, eggs and milk).
Agar-vegetable gelatin used for coagulating and making jelly.
Substitute for cheese offers a large selection of dairy-free cheese substitutes. There is also soy cheese of various tastes and textures (it is similar to milk cheese). Tofu cheese is slightly salty but absorbs other flavors well. Similarly, cheeses are made from sunflower, sesame, and almond seeds. Try making some of the homemade cheeses yourself using a blender.
Egg substitute – starch and yeast powder formula can be used in dishes that normally contain eggs.
Mycoprotein – meatless protein is made from mushrooms (which is why it contains little fat).
Rice milk is a slightly sweeter substitute for regular cow’s milk. It is rarer and more transparent than usual. It is often used in desserts.
Sejtan is a vegan substitute for meat. It is made from wheat gluten. It can be used in Asian dishes instead of tofu. The texture is similar to threads and sponge. That is why seitan absorbs the aroma of the water in which it is stored (if it is preserved).
Soy milk – an alternative to milk. It contains the same amount of protein, less fat, no cholesterol and almost the same amount of calcium (if calcium is added). Look for these products with added vitamin B12 (if you’re vegan).
Textured vegetable protein (TVP) soymeat or soy protein is a protein-rich food. It is made by processing defatted soybean flour to extract degradable sugar. It is often used as a substitute for meat.
Tofu is made from soybeans. It is often used in East Asian dishes. It is rich in proteins, vitamins, minerals and polyunsaturated fats – and does not contain cholesterol.
According to the law, some cheeses cannot be vegetarian products (parmesan, gorgonzola, talegio) because they contain animal enzymes. Then you need to look for a substitute for cheese.
