Homemade steam bath for the face (typical for luxury spas)
For just a few euros, you can buy medicinal plants from which you can make a homemade steam bath for the face (otherwise, a typical bath used by professionals in luxury spas). The preparation is simple.
- Relaxing homemade bath that perfectly deep cleans the face and clogged pores
Boil 1 liter of water. Add 2 tablespoons of yarrow, 2 tablespoons of lavender, 1 tablespoon of peppermint and 1 tablespoon of fennel seeds. Comfrey root, chamomile and orange blossom can be substituted for any of these ingredients. Place the pot in a shallow sink or on a table. Stand approximately 30 cm away from the pot. Cover your head with a towel (like a tent) and lean over the heated pot. Close your eyes and let the hot steam penetrate your face. Breathe deeply and relaxingly. Dry the skin after 5 minutes by patting it with a towel. Apply moisturizer. The skin will have a healthy glow. - Herbal face washes basically perform the same function (they clean the skin by removing impurities, excess oil and dead skin cells). Most of these products are slightly abrasive, so they can irritate very sensitive skin. The rule is not to use these products more than 2 to 3 times a week (and even less often if you have dry skin). There are excellent herbal remedies on the market that contain traditional medicinal herbs (such as apricot, aloe vera, almond) and some exotic herbs (such as finely ground azuki beans). A handful of dried almond pulp with a little water is quite enough for a homemade face wash. Avoid getting the mixture in the eyes. Rinse well and apply moisturizer.
