Drinking beer can be a great way to prevent osteoporosis
Beer has an intoxicating taste and a light-relaxing effect. Beer has also been used for thousands of years for medicinal purposes, i.e. in the treatment and prevention of various diseases. For example, the ancient Sumerians used beer for toothache and even to remove kidney stones. Japanese scientists recently discovered that the medicinal properties of beer are a consequence of the composition of this popular refreshing drink.
- Hops in beer help to treat colds.
- Beer contains silicon (an important building material for bone tissue), so it can improve the structure of tendons and ligaments and the overall condition of the bone system. Drinking beer is therefore an excellent way to prevent osteoporosis.
- Malt is an integral part of beer. It contains carbohydrates necessary for the human body, as well as proteins, some enzymes and mineral salts. All the listed components remain in the prepared beer during the processing process.
- Beer contains small amounts of vitamins and minerals that are contained in brewer’s yeast (although brewer’s yeast is diluted in beer, so there are small amounts of vitamins and minerals, but this amount is higher than in other alcoholic beverages). Brewer’s yeast is rich in B group vitamins, minerals and trace elements.
- 100 ml of beer contains vitamin B2, B6, niacin and folates (from 2% to 3% of the recommended daily dose).
- Beer also contains small amounts of vitamin C and vitamin E.
