10 tips for cleaning various objects in the home (with lemon, salt, grapefruit, etc.)
We all regularly clean worktops, cupboards and bathroom fittings, kitchen and sink taps. Stubborn stains, hard water and scale build up over time. Lemon, alcoholic vinegar, table salt, grapefruit, cucumber are suitable solutions among other choices. Certainly, the best way to remove limescale is to be patient: which means that natural agents should be given enough time to soften large deposits of limescale, as this will provide the best results.

  1. Cut a lemon in half and attach it to the faucet to clean gray scale and hard stains. If the lemon cannot stand firmly, then secure it with a hair elastic. After the lemon is secured, leave the lemon like that on the tap for up to 2 hours. Remove the lemon after the time is up. Limescale and stains should be cleaned, but stains may remain. Scrub those areas with lemon or a soft sponge. Lemon produces citric acid, which breaks down limescale over time. And it leaves a pleasant smell.
  2. Vinegar solves the problem of stubborn stains, but vinegar has a strong smell. Many people attach a bag of vinegar to the end of the faucet to break up scale. Alcoholic vinegar contains acetic acid, which breaks down limescale over time.
  3. It is necessary to clean the oven from time to time, especially if the oven is full of stubborn fats. This method is very simple. You need lemon, water and a bowl. Cut the lemon into slices, place in a bowl and cover with water. Put it in the oven and turn it on at 200°C. Leave it like that for about 15-20 minutes. Then take a clean cloth and dip it in that water with lemon, then gently clean the oven. Lemon is an excellent cleaner for ovens, dishwashers, faucets, cutting boards, etc.
  4. Homemade paste for cleaning dark stains on faucets (scale from water, residues of soap, washing and bathing products are some of the deposits that remain on faucets). You need baking soda, lemon juice and dishwashing detergent. Combine two spoons of baking soda, juice of half a lemon and two spoons of detergent. You get a mixture that you can apply to the faucets. Leave it like that for about 10 minutes. For stronger stains, use a sponge and rub the faucets. Then rinse with water. The results will amaze you, and the faucets will shine.
  5. Cleaning the kettle with lemon – Cut the lemon into rings and put it in the kettle. Add water and boil. Leave the lemon in the cooker for about half an hour after the water boils for the first time. After that, turn on the device again and let the lemon and water boil again (second time). Finally, rinse the device with cold water and remove the lemon residue.
  6. Cleaning scale from the kettle (second method) – pour alcohol vinegar to cover the bottom. Leave for at least 15 minutes (or several hours due to larger deposits of impurities in the cooker). Then rinse with water until you almost completely remove the smell of vinegar.
  7. Cleaning the coffee machine – The easiest way to clean the coffee machine is with a mixture of baking soda and water. After putting the mixture in the machine, let it run for one cycle (like making regular coffee) and at the end rinse well with water.
  8. Cotton balls soaked in alcohol vinegar will remove (clean) limescale from the faucets and the surfaces around the faucets. Put pieces of cotton wool (cotton pads or gauze) soaked in vinegar on the places where scale has accumulated (kitchen paper towels can also be used). Let them stand for a while, then wash with water.
  9. Cucumbers and grapefruit will clean hard water deposits on faucets (and other household items)-Cucumbers also help remove limescale. Take a slice of cucumber and rub the surface you want to clean.
  10. Grapefruit can remove limescale – cut the fruit in half. Put table salt on one half. Use this to rub the surfaces affected by limescale. Namely, the combination of acid from the fruit tree and salt helps to soften the scale, making it easier to remove the stains. This trick is especially useful on faucets.
