Propolis works against sore throats, toothaches and damage to the mucous membranes of the lips
The daily dose of propolis is up to 4 grams.
Propolis is a resinous mixture that bees (when they are 21 days old) collect from buds, roots and trees, from plant juices or other plant sources. Propolis is aromatic. It has a bitter taste. It is used as a means of closing unwanted openings in the hive and for a kind of sterilization of honeycomb cells. The name “propolis” is due to the Greek word “pro” which means “in front” and “Polis” or “city” (precisely because of the mentioned use of propolis to build the entrance to the hive). Bees collect propolis and mix it with glandular secretions in their mouths. Bees enzymatically modify propolis so that the most important ingredients in propolis (flavonoids) become active substances.
Medicinal composition of propolis-contains polyphenols and flavonoids, 50% resin, 10% essential oils, 30% wax, vitamins E and B, iron, zinc, enzymes, organic acids and 5% pollen. The most healing are the flavonoids in propolis. These are: pinocembrin, galangin, quercetin, chrysin, pinobanxin, kaempferol, apigenin. These pigments have a pronounced antioxidant effect which protects plants from diseases.
The action of propolis from the inside has antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antioxidant and antitumor effects. Propolis is a cytostatic which means it stops the growth of tumor cells. The action in the human organism is inexhaustible, ie it does not exhaust the organism. Bacteria cannot become immune to the effects of proplis (unlike synthetic drugs). Propolis is an excellent disinfectant, effective in damage to the oral cavity, skin diseases and removes swelling caused by toothache.
The effect of propolis on the outside – the healing effect of propolis is most pronounced for skin damaged by sunlight, burns, jellyfish burns and the like. The anti-inflammatory effect soothes redness of the skin. Analgesic action reduces the feeling of pain. The strong effect against fungal diseases is mostly reflected in the treatment of psoriasis, neurodermatitis and scalp flaking.
Compress with ground propolis – in 2 dcl of water (the best option is spring water) add half a cup of ground frozen propolis. Soak the gauze with the obtained liquid after it has stood for 12 hours. Gauze covers areas of skin damaged by burns, psoriasis or other skin diseases. The resulting liquid can be drunk – preferably on an empty stomach.
Propolis is a healthy dessert — it can be eaten raw. It is recommended to slowly chew a piece of propolis in your mouth completely until it melts. Thus it will be best absorbed in the body. This is especially recommended for damage to the oral mucosa, toothache or sore throat. The daily dose is up to 4 grams.
Homemade cream with propolis and aloe vera – Melt 50 g of Vaseline on steam. Add 10 g of finely chopped propolis. Cook until completely melted. Then add half a tablespoon of alcoholic tincture of aloe vera. This cream is great for dry and damaged skin and breast massage due to colds and bronchitis.
